Aspen Ladd began her journey into combat sports at the young age of fourteen. Aspen Ladd was trained in kickboxing, BJJ, boxing, and wrestling prior to her debut as an amateur at WCFC aged 18. Ladd became more confident after this win and won 3 bouts in Ultimate Reno Combat. Her opponents all fell by the start of the round. After that, she went back to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez by unanimous decision. Aspen beat Silvia Babaeghian as well as Maddy Simmons before fighting Cynthia Calvillo at WCFC 9. Cynthia beat Aspen and swept her away in unanimity to create a blemish on Ladd's amateur record. Ladd bounced back from the loss and defeated Roma Pawelek at Tuff-N-Uff to increase her record to 8-1.
