Jessica Ellen Cornish is an English performer and song writer who goes by the moniker Jessie J. Jessie has gained notoriety early due to her unusual music style that is a blend of soul, hip-hop, pop and electropop. Her work has earned her numerous awards and nominations, like the 2011 'Critics Choice Brit Awards' and "BBC's Sound of 2011.' Her professional career started at the young age of 11 after she got a role in 'Whistle Down the Wind,' one of the musicals written that was written by English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. She then joined the National Youth Music Theater and appeared in their 2002 show The Late Sleepers'. The year 2011, when she became famous by releasing her debut album 'Who You Are'. It immediately became a hit. Within the first few days the album was sold out to 105,000 people in the UK and 34,000 in the US. The album also ranked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart', and as number 11 on American Billboard 200.' Jessie is also recognized for her charity work as well as her involvement with organizations like 'Children in Need' and 'Comic Relief.'
